Jamie hadn't been able to go back to the mall he'd been to before, not since the nightmare beast had been unleashed and had almost killed him. He'd woken up in a cold sweat more than once, his senses freaking out and making him unsure of whether he was still bathing in acid. It wasn't something he had wanted to deal with, but he didn't have a choice. he'd just have to wait until he got over it... Assuming he ever did.
He'd come to a somewhat smaller, yet still reasonably decent mall. He was sitting in the food court, having his usual healthy lunch of a value meal from Micky D's. It wasn't like he had to worry about keeping fit; going to the gym every day and being attacked by monsters kept a guy in shape, dupes or no dupes.
He was still mad that they no longer offered to super-size his meal though; how was he supposed to feel full on just a normal meal?
His mind went back to the two women he'd met recently. He didn't know if they were potential girlfriends for him; their youth and their "situation" notwithstanding, he was worried that he was just lonely, and that he was projecting. Company was nice, though, and though he missed that, it just didn't really show due to him distracting himself with... Well, being him.

Maybe this time she wouldn't have an accident... This mall was smaller; small enough so there weren't movie posters outside of the actual theater that was within it. There were less people here too.... But Chassy was still a little paranoid. Especially with how messy things had gotten last time. Yes, there were a couple of not so fudged up spots in there, but the majority was action packed. More action than she or her heart might have liked...
The sale she has just learned about the other day that was supposed to go on at one of the art supply stores, wouldn't be starting for another half an hour due to issues the manager or whatever was having, so Chassy made her way down to the food court to get something to eat in the meantime. Might as well, it was either that or mall-crawl until it was time. Since she was hungry anyways, it made sense to just grab something to eat.
She had just gotten a meal from Taco Bell and was looking for a quick spot to sit when she spotted him. Jamie. Chassy paused for a moment, unsure of what to do. Would she walk over, would she duck for cover, listen to Summers and avoid him or listen to her mischief and go right on over and plant her butt in the chair across from him? Crap, did he just see her?

Jamie had been happy enough with his burger, fries, and those twisty things that weren't quite fries but weren't quite wedges either. Curlies, or twisties, or whatever you wanted to call them. It made him wonder what they did to the cooking fat to make them come out like that, and what kind of seasoning they had used. Yes, sometimes, even the greatest of minds ended up wondering how they made something taste so good.
His eyes had been so busy focusing on his food that when they'd refocused on the crowd around him, they were precise, picking a face out of the crowd that he recognised. It was Chastity, and she was walking. Healthy. Unless she had a twin that he hadn't known about. Was she hotter than Chastity? He didn't know.
Raising his hand, he waved to her, beckoning her to come over.
He hoped that she wasn't mad at him for leaving her; he had only done it because she'd asked him to. It was the only thing on his mind now. Rather, SHE was the only thing on his mind right now. No more twisty fries. He hoped she was okay, and that she wasn't mad...

His hand lifted up and one of two things could have happened. Well, one of three actually. He could have waved her away, he could have flipped her off, or he could have waved in a good way. It ended up being door number three on this one and she found herself grinning a little in relief and slightly in mischief. Chassy waved back, holding onto the tray with her other hand before she made her way over and took the seat across from him. Sure, she was supposed to stay away from him. And sure, he was supposed to be a ad guy or something. But hey, wasn't like Summers was hovering over her shoulder to see this happening, was it.
Chassy was grinning almost from ear to ear as she set her tray down and looked across the tiny table at him. She was glad that there weren't any hard feelings over what had happened the last time they met. And over the whole where she lived and whom with thing too. It wasn't like she could really help that. And with how long she'd lived there, it'd be a hard thing to change up. Not that she was thinking about leaving. She used to think about it off and on a couple years ago, but these days she actually thought of it as home. As much as she could with her issues anyways.
"Aww, you didn't pretend not to know me. That's so sweet." She joked even as she went to carefully unwrapping the burrito.
She had to be careful unless she wanted to have to explain a giant bell and a mutated chihuahua happening to appear on the table and breaking the thing... well, it depended on how but the bell actually was... Yeah, definitely being careful...

She seemed to get the hint. She didn't turn away, didn't pretend to ignore him, and didn't even give him the finger either. So, good, then. She wanted to talk to him, and as she approached he pushed the chair out for her with his foot, at least trying to resemble a gentleman for the time being. He stopped eating while she sat down, noticing the smile on her face. So she was happy to see him, then? That was a relief.
"Aww, you didn't pretend not to know me. That's so sweet."
"Oh you know me, sweet's my middle name." He said, taking a bite of his burger while she opened her burrito.
"So you doing okay?" He asked after taking a mouthful of soda to wash down the food.
He was trying to be as casual as possible, though it came easier than he would have admitted. He liked her company, and he was glad to see that she was all right, even if she wasn't his type. Not his type in the sense that going out with her could get his ass kicked in twenty different ways. She sure was pretty though...

"Oh you know me, sweet's my middle name."
"Jamie Sweet Madrox. I'll have to remember that." She teased him before taking a bite of the burrito while now being careful not to get any of it on the edges of her mouth.
Doing that would only leave her open to being teased about having stuff on the corners of her mouth. Then she'd have to make a dirty joke right on back and who knew where that could lead. Awkwardness more than likely with how he was freaking out the last time they met when he found out an idea of how old she was.
"So you doing okay?"
"Mhm." She hummed out before chewing up her food enough to swallow it down.
After washing her food down with a sip of her drink, she spoke up.
"Yeah, I'm completely fine now more or less. So, you don't have to worry about me dropping dead." She replied more fully.
Yes, she had a little less time here on Earth now as every time she had a heart attack it left her heart weaker. But hey, it wasn't like she was looking forward to when her boobs went south and her pants moved north either.

"Jamie Sweet Madrox. I'll have to remember that."
He'd given her a smirk, remarking to himself that he preferred "Sweet" to "Arthur" any day of the week. He still worried about whether she was too much of the forbidden fruit for him to get a taste. Yes, that was how dry his love life had been lately; he was thinking about teenagers. Nice teenagers, but teenagers nonetheless. Not his usual type, but that wasn't their fault, was it.
Maybe he was just over-thinking it, though; maybe he could just play it by ear and see what happened.
"Yeah, I'm completely fine now more or less. So, you don't have to worry about me dropping dead."
"I won't. God forbid I have to be your knight in shining armour; AGAIN. You don't want that, do you?" He said, teasing her a little.
Jamie have a small smile as he took another drink, thinking about what he might say to her if she ever felt up to it. Though just at that moment a smile crossed his lips. Not a bad one, or a naughty one; just a normal, average, every-day smile.
"Hey I just remembered: You owe me." He said, with a satisfied look on his face.
Not smug, just satisfied.

"I won't. God forbid I have to be your knight in shining armour; AGAIN. You don't want that, do you?"
"Psh. You're acting like you didn't secretly have fun aiding in the death of your worst nightmare come to life. Anyways, you can't say the whole time was all that bad, seeing how you didn't run away screaming when you saw me here." She teased back.
She laughed a little then went to eating more of her calorie filled burrito. No, she didn't care what it looked like. She cared about filling her stomach. If anyone looking was thinking something bad, shame on them.
"Hey I just remembered: You owe me."
She would have laughed again, or teased him. But, her mouth was full of burrito at the moment so he was safe for the moment. Once she finished the food and swallowed it down though, and took another drink, it was a different story. Chassy set down the burrito and making sure none was on her hands she leaned forwards a little.
"Bringing up that still owe you one thing, huh?" She said in a teasing tone.
"I guess there's no getting around it. C'mere you stud." She teased, beginning to unbutton her shirt as if she was preparing for something naughty.
This drew several looks over in their direction and a choke from someone who had overheard that last bit.

"Psh. You're acting like you didn't secretly have fun aiding in the death of your worst nightmare come to life. Anyways, you can't say the whole time was all that bad, seeing how you didn't run away screaming when you saw me here."
Madrox went quiet. Aiding? Yes, because massive emasculation followed by a fucked up stupid decision that had actually paid off sure made him look good, and was full of good old fashioned, family fun. He hated it. Pure and simple, and it might have showed on his face. He didn't say anything though; his embarrassment actually more prominent than he would have liked it to be.
He stayed quiet even as she ate, taking smaller bites of his own food, his appetite waning. His telling her she'd owed him had seemed to amuse her, and when she leaned forward, he gave her his full attention.
"Bringing up that still owe you one thing, huh?"
In truth, he'd needed to change the subject, but he didn't mention it.
"I guess there's no getting around it. C'mere you stud."
She began to unbutton her shirt, and Madrox let his brow rise up just a little while he tried not to seem like he was going to ogle her too much.
"Oh yes, tease me; that's certainly a fair way to repay the man who saved your life." He said, trying to seem charming without being sure if he could pull it off.

"Oh yes, tease me; that's certainly a fair way to repay the man who saved your life."
Chassy laughed a little then went back to sitting normally even if she left those couple of buttons as they were. She was wearing an undershirt anyways.
"It's completely fair. Didn't you know it's the "now" kind of way to do just that?" She joked and lied playfully.
Her eyes practically glowed with amusement and mischief and that smirk she wore almost made her look cat-like for a moment.
"SO, what did you have in mind for the whole paying you back thing? I know it isn't money because you don't seem like the type."
At least, she hoped he wasn't the type. Sure she was told he was a bad guy, but people could be wrong. Anyways, he seemed like an alright guy to her. She didn't feel the hair at the back of her neck rising up or anything. He didn't make her feel paranoid or like he was up to something. Chassy had gotten by most of her life by going with her gut feeling and her guts told her that he was okay.

"It's completely fair. Didn't you know it's the "now" kind of way to do just that?"
His brow rose briefly as he considered what she'd said. He didn't see how it was fair, but he wasn't going to dissuade her; no point to it. She was teasing him anyway, obviously, no matter what kind of excuse she tried to put up. He was sure she knew that though, and he could share in the joke even if he didn't know where he was with this young lady. He was worried about her heart, but he didn't say anything; he'd watched enough television to know that heart problems were BAD.
"SO, what did you have in mind for the whole paying you back thing? I know it isn't money because you don't seem like the type."
He smiled, considering what she'd said for a moment. He wasn't the type, that was true; he had more money than he needed, and he'd gotten past the whole "bling" phase of his life. He just lived to enjoy himself, and money was a means to an end in that regard. With Chastity, it didn't seem like money was that important to her either, so he was happy enough with knowing that.
"You'd be right, but I doubt you'd be up for what I had in mind." He said, teasing her suggestively himself.
"Pretty young thing like you probably thinks I'm an old fogey." He joked.

"You'd be right, but I doubt you'd be up for what I had in mind."
"Hey, you never know till you either try, or say what you mean." She quipped, trying not to let herself get embarrassed.
She was a Trouble; Troubles didn't get embarrassed. At least, when they did they didn't admit it. It was rare to see a Trouble blush or admit when they were wrong. Well, admit it and mean it... But then again, it wasn't like there was a lot of her family left either and who knew how her brother was being raised. For all she knew, he might be being raised as.... as a... CHOIR-BOY! Chassy felt a little sick on the inside as she thought about that possibility. She couldn't even make jokes about what powers he should develop were he in that situation.
Well..... it served him right, right? For taking their mother out of their lives? He was the one who killed her. If he hadn't been so terrible during the labor....
"Pretty young thing like you probably thinks I'm an old fogey."
It was perfect timing on Jamie's part on the distraction, even if he didn't know it.
"Old? Really? If you're thinking that, then you probably see me like I'm a little kid." She commented with a roll of her eyes.

"Hey, you never know till you either try, or say what you mean."
That was true, he supposed. What was he supposed to say to her, though? She wasn't even eighteen! He wasn't going to be the guy that spoiled the young fruit before it had ripened, though from where he was sitting, she looked pretty ripe. No... Bad Jamie, BAD Jamie. He was going to have to find a way to behave around her, though he supposed to he could just keep remembering what she'd done to him; that would work...
"Old? Really? If you're thinking that, then you probably see me like I'm a little kid."
Jamie shook his head.
"Oh, I think we're well past that." He said, giving her a cheeky look that made it seem like he was looking at more than just her face.
He was trying to be as nice as possible with her, though the way she was acting with him, he knew that he was going to have to throw a little naughty in there for good measure. Something about her told him that even with her heart condition, kid gloves might not have been the best way to go about things.

"Oh, I think we're well past that."
"Well, good to see that this baby-face doesn't throw you off. And that I don't remind you of the Sesame Street jingle." She teased right back.
She nibbled on the burrito again, torn between conversation and consumption. What, she was hungry. That was why she'd come to the food court in the first place, right? That, and it was getting near the time for her to take her medication, as embarrassing as that was.
Chassy had gotten good at taking it without being obvious about it, but right now she was a little self conscious. Why? Well, he'd seen her have a heart attack before, even had to save her from it once. So he was probably keeping that in mind even if she seemed alright right now... She thought for a moment then a slightly impish smile came from her before she pulled a small liquor bottle from her pocket.
She was so casual about it that most people would have overlooked it if they were passing by... Opening the lid to her cup, she poured some of the contents of the nip bottle then stirred the new drink with the straw before pouring in the rest of the shot and dropping the bottle under the table. There was a small smash but she'd coughed at the same time so the sound was somewhat covered. Enough not to draw looks for the time being.
With a grin, she took a deep sip.
"So, what made you decide to brave another mall?"

"Well, good to see that this baby-face doesn't throw you off. And that I don't remind you of the Sesame Street jingle."
Baby-face? He didn't know about that. It was actually not something he would have said about her, though after watching her sleep for hours on end, it was difficult for him to think of her as anything other than a woman. A young, vibrant woman. He wasn't falling for her or anything like that (it was too soon for anything like that), but he had to admit that he had warmed to her, and that she did amuse him just a little bit.
He quietly worked on finishing his food, the super size orange soda still about half-full even now. He chewed slowly, getting even slower when he saw her take out the small bottle of what he assumed was either liquor or some sort of medicine. After she was done pouring it in, Jamie watched as she took a decent sip, and he had been about to comment when she'd beaten him to the punch, speaking herself.
"So, what made you decide to brave another mall?"
He smiled a little cheekily.
"Well, it was either the chance of seeing you again, or the chance of finding a mall you wouldn't be going to. That, or I was hungry." He said, teasing some.
