Tacobell, what a strange place for Remy to be eating, but there he was. Of all places inside the mall, the cajun had the hankering for mexican food. His rationale for the trip to the fast food chain was to just grab a bite to eat and make his way back to his place. The lady at the counter handed off his order from the paper bag and gave him a smile. Equipped with his cajun charm, it wasn't hard for the girl to be helpless by the way he grinned. He said a small 'thank you' before he turned and left the store with his food.
He took a stroll around the mall, and for some reason, Gambit can't help but feel that he heard some weird screeching a few floors up. However, he shrugged it off and started to finish up his take out. The mall had a variety of people to it compared to a bar. It was a nice change for Gambit to walk here. He turned a corner and was going to head for the exit. He felt a bit crammed up as he noticed a number of people rushing towards the exit of the mall. For him, something must have happened. But whatever it was, it was none of his business. he had a different agenda. If it was a fire or whatnot, it wasn't Gambit's duty, he wasn't a superhero or something in the first place.
But once he tried to get away from the crowd rushing towards the exit, that was where it happened. A girl conveniently bumped towards Gambit along the way. Gambit's eyes were focused on the girl that he felt something was wrong about it a split second she hit. Instinctively, he made a quick but gentle grab of her wrist. Lo and behold, his wallet. He had a small smile, the girl almost had her there. The keyword was, almost.
"Sorry chere..but I believe this belongs to me", the cajun said before he used his free hand to pull the wallet off her hands. He quickly let go of her wrist after pulling both of them away from the panicky crowd. He faced her and raised a brow before he said, "Y'know, if you wanted some cash, could've asked nicely non?"

Her stomach growled. Not for the first time that day either. She was hungry and she was pretty sure that her shoes had a hole in them. Not too big and not where it was visible but it was still annoying enough. So, she decided to do something about it. The mall was the best spot. Why? Because everything was all clustered together. Oh no, not just the stores. People. Yes, she figured she could nick a few wallets and spend the money before tossing the lightened wallets in the lost and found. She wouldn't clean them out, just take a little off the top. She wasn't completely heartless.
Luckily for her, there was a huge distraction going on, causing people to be paying more attention to running out of the mall than paying attention to their wallets. Tabitha took full advantage of the situation and nicked about three wallets. She ran with the crowd, acting like she knew what they were trying to escape and had just snatched up a fourth wallet when things stopped flowing so smoothly.
Her wrist was caught and she was stopped in her tracks by a strong grip. Her eyes widened and a small gasp came from her followed by a muttered curse when she realized it was the hand she had the wallet in still. A sheepish smirk crossed her lips. Sometimes if she seemed like she wasn't really all that bad, she got away with a "dont do that again" speech. Though, she was kind of getting a little old to be getting away with that these days, wasn't she.
"Sorry chere..but I believe this belongs to me... "Y'know, if you wanted some cash, could've asked nicely non?"
The wallet had been taken back while he was talking but that didn't get her down too much. She still had the other wallets somewhere on her person. None of them had fallen out or off while she was being pulled to the side.
"Oh but thieves are so much cuter than beggars." She commented, mischief glinting in her eyes.

Gambit almost cracked up with the girl's comment. He just shook his head slowly and quipped, "Cuter? From what I'm lookin' at...seems to be the case."
True enough, the blonde was a bit attractive, but not the cajun's type. He admired her courage to even try and sneak up on ol' Gambit just to snatch his wallet. He pointed at the crowd and asked her, "This your doin little lady?". Gambit had a smirk on his face with the question. To be honest, he had no clue, but it was not that uncommon to have a theif be a cause to this. He is a thief himself and possesed powers that can be destructive.
He glanced at the crowd and added, "If this distraction was your doin, pretty elaborate way for you just to get a wallet. However, a little tip next time, don't make your bumps too obvious. To de season vets, dat was one amateur move." He quickly shifted his attention back at Tabitha while he put his wallet back at the pocket. Though he needed to give credit where credit was due. "However, with a little training, maybe...just maybe you can even fool people such as mahself."
He paused a bit to let that offer to teach the young lady the tricks of the trade sink in. A few seconds later, he smiled and told her "Name's Gambit by the way. Pleasure to be meetin' you..and what is the name of this cute theif dat be in front of me?"

As he agreed with her about the cuteness factor, Tabitha grinned while managing to keep the tip of her tongue between her front teeth. Oh she was so going to get away with this after all. Great! Because she really wanted a new pair of shoes and a snack. Alright, not a snack a full meal. But it'd be one on the go as she heard some crazy sounds coming from another part of the mall and she sorely doubted it was the arcade going crazy.
"This your doin little lady?... If this distraction was your doin, pretty elaborate way for you just to get a wallet. However, a little tip next time, don't make your bumps too obvious. To de season vets, dat was one amateur move... However, with a little training, maybe...just maybe you can even fool people such as mahself."
"Not a chance. I just got here like two minutes ago and my distractions are.... well, louder and more fun." She stated with an imp-like smirk.
"And I'm usually more sly, I was just in a rush and most of these people here are too busy running from whatever's going on down that end to notice little ol' me bumping into them in my rush to get out too." Tabitha said, giving him her cover.
"Name's Gambit by the way. Pleasure to be meetin' you..and what is the name of this cute theif dat be in front of me?"
"Well, you can call me Boom Boom for now. If you get to teaching me for a while, who knows the name might evolve into something more often used." She teased.

"More sly? Really?", Gambit inquired dryly. If she can't admit defeat, then there's no point for him pushing on with that conversation. He just shook his head lightly and looked at her oddly. His look was even more so when she told him her name was 'boom boom'. On the back of the cajun's mind, she could have picked a better nick name. But on the other hand, she amused him a lot. The teasing tone, coupled with her nick name being used more often did spike the cajun's curiosity.
"More often? Whatever do you mean by dat?", Gambit shot back in a similar teasing tone. He had to admit, this girl got him a bit intrigued and amused at the same time. Atleast it looked like she took his offer to train her. But, judging from the looks of things, right now was not a good time for training. People were still leaving in droves, and it didn't seem to end. He made his way towards the exit, hoping she'll follow him. "Well, obviously dis place ain't no good trainin ground. Atleast for now."
Once he made the exit, he leaned up against the wall, waiting for Tabitha to catch up to him. He smirked and asked, "Took you long nuff. So, ready for trainin? Or still to scared to learn de real art of theivery?"

"More sly? Really?"
"Yeah, really." She quipped, mischief dancing even more in her eyes.
Seriously, even if she had broken into things like banks more than having picked pockets, she had at least a little practice. She only got caught sometimes. Rare sometimes. And as far as the bank brreaking, she hadn't done that in a long time, which she had no feeling of loss about.
As he asked about what she had meant when she said the bit about a name more often used, she grinned at him.
"You don't really think I had "Boom Boom" written on my birth certificate, do you?" She teased with a grin.
Things were getting a lot louder down the other part of the mall, and more people were crowding to get out like startled cattle. It was about time to get the hell out of there before they stuck out too much. The cute Gambit guy seemed to think the same thing as he commented on this not being a good training ground then went to making his escape. Tabitha, her curiosity having been snatched like his wallet had been earlier, followed after him.
"Took you long nuff. So, ready for trainin? Or still to scared to learn de real art of theivery?"
"Hey, I doubt you haven't gone without food since yesterday mornin' an' have a hole in the bottom of your shoe." She replied before sticking her tongue out at him.
"Snack bag of chips, at that." She added, placing her hands on her hips.

"Bag of chips?", Gambit repeated her last meal rather quizically. If she was used to pick pocketing, she'd have more than that. He shook his head and did a playful wag of his finger, "See? Dat means you do need some teachin. Not to worry, Gambit won't charge dat much..."
Seems like the lesson's not gonna start anytime today for the cajun. He surveyed the area before he got off the wall. He walked towards the end of the street and found a hotdog stand. He shrugged at the thought of spending his money with someone, but he figured there was no loss. Besides, he'll be doing some pick pocketing himself in a few hours.
"Two, with everything on it.", he ordered the hotdog vendor. He looked over his shoulder to see the girl behind him and he grinned, "Dis one's on de house, chere." Seconds later, the vendor handed Gambit his order and he paid him for the hotdogs. He turned his attention back at the unfed Tabitha as he held the two hotdogs.
"Bon appétit" he said to the girl with his usual charming grin. Slowly, Gambit presented her with the two orders of hotdogs. Hopefully it can take out the girl's hunger. While he counted the bills on his wallet, he started to ask the girl, "So..what's your story?"

"Bag of chips?"
"Yup." She replied short sweet and to the point.
"See? Dat means you do need some teachin. Not to worry, Gambit won't charge dat much..."
"Nope." She commented with a cheeky grin.
"It just means I don't pick unless I really need it. I've got po broblem with takin' a couple lessons here and there though. Eye-candy for a teacher helps some too." She added, the grin getting a little bigger.
As he started walking, she watched for a moment. But, as sh saw he was going towards a hotdog vendor, she soon followed after. She was starving! Her eyes almost glittered as she heard him ordering the dogs and she told herself if he was going to just mess with her, she would kick him in the no go zone then take off with all his food.
"Bon appétit"
Boomers actually gave a squeak of delight when he presented the hotdogs to her and accepted them both, spinning with them once before happily taking a big bite out of the one in her left hand. The blond acted like she was too busy chewing to answer at first when he asked her what her story was. But that would only last so long... Damn.
" 'S not all that excitin'." She commented.
"I bet there's at least a dozen other people with the same-ish story in this city alone."
She commented with a raised brow before taking another bite of the hotdog. Smaller this time.
Well, they might have similar stories but she doubted all of them could make kinetic bombs or were used by their dads to break into banks. Tabby kept her thoughts off her face as she ate.
"Thanks for the dogs." She commented when her mouth was empty.

"Same stories? Nah...not quite", Gambit said with a raised brow of his own. While she does have a point that most people have the same old story in the city, something inside Gambit thinks it doesn't apply with this girl. Something in her eyes, hell, even the way she just spoke about it made him think. But he won't be pushing the issue right now. In due time, when they meet again, maybe she would be ok with telling her tale. Besides, the cajun himself wasn't one to tell anyone his own journey of life.
"Y'welcome chere.", Gambit replied to her thanks with a smirk on his face. He was glad she got to eat, from the looks of it, she needed every bit of those hotdogs. If she didn't eat since 24 hours ago, then thankgoodness he just met her. An amused thought got across Gambit's mind if she didn't see him at the mall and tried to steal from him. Maybe right now, she would have fainted due to the lack of food on her body or something like that.
"Besides, it only proper for de teacher to take care of his students no...", Remy said in a teasing manner of his own. However, he cut himself off and took a good look at Tabitha. "Hold on..", he told her as he leaned close to her. Right now, his face was just an inch or two away from her's as he pulled out something from his pocket. It was an unused handkerchief that the cajun got out of his pocket and he gently patted it near her lips. He gently brushed off a piece of parsley that really bothered Gambit upon his initial sighting of it on her face.
He leaned back and declared, "First lesson...remember to wipe y'mouth afer eatin. Dat was one good chunk of relish" The cajun took a few steps back and put his handkercheif back in his pocket. Hopefully the girl wouldn't take too much offense to him doing the cleaning by himself. On the other hand he had to make some fun out of that situation. If he was indeed eye-candy, he'd love to test her in other ways.

As he outwardly doubted that the stories were the same, she laughed a little and went to finishing off that first hotdog. His welcome was responded to with a small "mn" and she had started on the second dog. Tabitha wasn't usually the openly scarfing kind, but she was hungry. Really hungry. Another "mn" came from her as he commented on a teacher taking care of his student, her mouth having been full from the last bite of the second hotdog.
When he told her to hold on and leaned close, a small "hm?" came from her and her eyes widened slightly. Shee held her breath a little as his face came in a couple of inches away from hers and she felt her heart skip a beat briefly. Her cheeks didn't go red though until he'd used a cloth to wipe the corner of her lip and he leaned back again. In a rare moment of being in a flustered state, she was speechless for a second.
"First lesson...remember to wipe y'mouth afer eatin. Dat was one good chunk of relish"
"You.... You just wanted an excuse to get all close-like." She commented, crossing her arms and looking to the side, her cheeks still flushed for another minute or two before she got herself together.

"You.... You just wanted an excuse to get all close-like."
Gambit couldn't help but have a smirk across his lips. This was way too amusing for him. Gambit still had the smirk etched on hi face while he said lightly, "Now why would Gambit use an excuse just to get close-like?" The cajun was really enjoying this, at the expense of his new would-be apprentice. He took a few steps forward and handed her a spade of ace cards.
"Here's my callin' card. Nothin' fancy. It just a card, yes?", Gambit told her in his usual suave cajun accent. He looked at the crowd to his left and told her, "Sorry chere, but de real lessons won't be until we meet again. Gambit still got a lil number of 'chores' to do. We will meet again, sooner dan y'think chere". He stressed the word 'chores' signaling that he still had a number of agendas he needed to sort out before the day was done. He took off from the place where he stood and started to walk away.
