It was supposed to rain today, which meant that when the weather finally decided to change up to that, he would be able to take a break from having to wear the device that he needed to use to be able to walk around for longer than an hour or so. Well, walk around on dry land. His goldfish flecked medium brown eyes went skywards as the anticipation filled him. He hoped that the weather person hadn't been wrong this time. The person had been wrong the last three times and Zyne Xander De la Vega was beginning to feel like he was being stood up.
A pleased look came into his eyes as he saw exactly how overcast the sky was and he felt hope beginning to rise. The hydro-kinetic lowered his face and went to walking to the pond that was in one of the more secluded parts of the park. Well, the more commonly secluded. With the weather looking like the way it did, it meant that there were less people there today anyways.
Several small pinprick sized drops of water landed on his skin where his clothes didn't cover him and a pleased sigh came from him. The meteorologist finally seemed to have gotten it right. As the drizzle transformed into a full on rain, Tsunami took a look around to see he was alone for the time being and peeled off his shirt. The device was removed next and when the rain became the promised down pour, his gills split open and flared slightly to take in the water pouring over them.

Deep thunder rumbled from the skies so hard that it shook the very ground of the earth beneathe it, lightning circulated through the skies in an intricate, chaotic pattern that would mean instant destruction if it so much as touched down. The dark brown eyes of Malakai Jackson watched from the ground, his jaw clenched and his body shaking slightly. Ever since he was a child he'd always tested his abilities in some form or fashion. Electricity didn't hurt, it barely gave any effects to him, save for the sharp stings initially that he felt when absorbing it. He was becoming more and more aware of the factr he needed to replenish his supply however, he was like a human bio-electric battery yes, but this was extreme, standing in the field of the park, raising his hands to the heaven's above. His dark brown jacket rippling in the wind and beginning to get soaked by the pouring rain. Suddenly in a flash, a bolt of lightning struck down and Kai drew from it's energy, the strike was hard and thunderous, but he harnessed the energy, several bright blue streaks of electricity flying all around him until in an instant it was over. A small grin crossed his face, though his body was smoking and red hot, the electricity continued to spasm across his body, he could feel the power crackling in the palm of his hands, he started to channel it, sending bolts of electricity here and there, and focusing it into it's own destructive nature.
Malakai was quite pleased with himself for pushing himself at least THIS far with his powers. It wasn't every day someone woke up with the ability to fry someone to a crisp, and they held the discipline not to cause every electrical outlet they past to explode simply from the charge they carried, much less wield the power without someone teaching them focus. His satisfaction was put on hold however as he turned and noticed he wasn't alone. It was almost on cue that he saw something else you didn't see everyday. A short slender man with some sort of opening coming from his torso was standing there, seemingly enjoying the rain. 'Fish outta water, tha fuck?' He thought to himself, a perplexed look crossing his face as he rubbed his hand across the plain brown t-shirt he wore, if he wasn't mistaken, which he could've been judging by the distance and his near-sidedness, but it appeared the man had a samurai come roaring through and sliced his damn stomach open. Either that, or the guy was one of those ancient fishmen he'd seen in a sci-fi epic. Was he indeed the Merman? Was he worthy enough to get fried at a time like this? And had he witnessed the brilliant display Kai'd put on with his lightning? Kai wasn't quite sure, but he didn't particularly want an answer to either of those questions, instead, turning back around and starting to walk away, his footsteps sloshing from the wet grass as he went, pretending in his mind he'd never seen the guy, don't ask, don't tell, Mutants weren't very liked in New York, hell the world. More and more there were reports of FoH putting the crackdown in very elaborate ways. Fabricated or not, Kai wasn't looking to fight any wars, nore was he ready to register himself as some sort of circus freak.
"Yo! You aight over there buddy?! You know it's supposed to come down tonight!" Suddenly came Malakai's voice, something had picqued his curiosity, call it his wild child, his inner Black panther, if he could be called a curious cat, which he wasn't in the least. Yet, there he was, turned around and slowly pacing, yelling over the dull roar of the rain. Despite the fact he'd tried to shut off his electricity, it still tingled across his finger tips in short spurts, coming and going, though it wasn't overly obvious.
