Family:
Nikolai Rasputin (father, deceased), Alexandra Rasputina (mother, deceased), Mikhail Rasputin (brother), Illyana Rasputin (sister)General Appearance:
Piotr Rasputin stands at approximately six feet six inches in his human form (seven-foot five in armoured form). Weighing in at 250 lbs in his human form (Around one tonne armoured), Peter is a pretty big guy. He is well built, muscular, though more in an athletic than body-building sense. He has short, black hair and blue eyes. He has almost no distinguishing marks, in fact, if it were not for his size, Peter would look like any other reasonably attractive man his age. He wears very casual clothing: Combat pants or khakis and sweatshirts, mostly, as they allow him the flexibility that something like constricting clothing would.Personality:
In his armoured form, Peter's entire body takes on a silver sheen due to his body's transformation. His skin (from his neck down) appears to be segmented (like a worm) though as far as anyone knows, it is just a part of his outward appearance.
Peter is, in almost every way, a gentle giant. He is soft spoken, kind, loyal, and infinitely generous. He is the typical "nice guy", who is shy at first, but opens up once he gets used to someone.Abilities:
That is, of course, until he, or the people he cares about, are threatened. Peter possesses a temper, a rage that, in his armoured form makes him a force to be reckoned with. He is determined, strong, and with enough motivation can do almost anything he sets his mind to.
Colossus has the ability to transform his body in to a type of organic steel. It is unknown if he has any organs in this form, but what is known is that it grants him immense strength (the ability to lift several dozen tons), and protection from harm (to the extent that a sidewinder missile would only knock him down, if at all). He does not need to eat, sleep, or even breathe in this form, and does not have many of the biological functions associated with his human form. He retains his senses, and has the same mobility in his metal form that he does in his human one (even appearing to have more mobility due to his massive size).History:
Due to his metallic nature, Peter can be affected by several things that would affect metals. He can conduct electricity (though it does not really harm him), he has limited resistance to acids, and extremes of heat and cold can damage his metal form.
One note about his powers is that his entire body becomes metal when he transforms; he cannot choose individual body parts, indicating an incompatibility between his biology and his metal form.
Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin was born in Siberia, near Lake Baikal. Growing up on a farm with parents who were not the wealthiest, life was hard. Fighting every winter just to survive ingrained in him a toughness and strength of will that is still with him even to this day. Peter, from an early age, learned the value of hard work and family, which gave him a humility that not a lot of people possess. His brother Mikhail, a famous Cosmonaut, was his hero, and his sister, Illyana, was everything to him.Other:
Peter's powers emerged when he was in his mid-teens, when his sister was almost killed by a runaway tractor. Leaping in the way of the vehicle, he found himself shifting in to his metal form, his impressive strength allowing him to save Illyana from certain death.
He then went on to use his powers to help other nearby farmers, becoming something of a local hero.
He soon came to the attention of Professor Charles Xavier, who came to Russia to try to convince Peter to come to America so that he might study at Xavier's institute. Peter was wary at first, but soon realised that his powers could be used to help many more people than he was doing already. With his parents' blessing he left with the Professor, and became a permanent resident of the Institute.
Peter has adapted to American life quite well, and he now speaks fluent English. He does, however, still retain the traits that made him the kind, gentle man he is today. It is this likeability that has made him a popular part of the Xavier household.
Peter is a gifted artist, and his creations hang on many of the walls of the Institute. He is a skilled farmer, though he does not spend as much time in the gardens as he would like to. Studying with several of the X-Men, Peter has become a gifted hand to hand combatant, and as such can surprise an enemy with a quickness and skill that belies his size.Sample RP:
Peter wiped the sweat from his brow as he placed one of the bricks, scraping off the excess cement with a trowel before placing it to the side. He was almost done building the large barbecue base, and he found himself quite proud of the work he'd done as he took a drink from his bottle of water. He was about to lay the next one when he heard a voice from behind.
"Peter?"
The Russian turned, seeing one of the younger mutants of the school looking at him. He raised a brow, making it look like he was waiting for them to continue.
"Why are you doing it like that? Why not just change in to your steel body and do it that way? Wouldn't it be easier?"
Peter smiled, a gentleness coming from him that seemed to radiate all around.
"Da, it would. I do not want to make it easier, though."
"Why?"
Peter smiled.
"Because nothing in life that is worth doing, is done easily."
