Dr. Daniel Madrox (father, deceased), Joan Madrox (mother, deceased), Sheila DeSoto (wife, deceased)General Appearance:
Jamie Madrox is 6' 1" tall, with a broad but not too muscular build. He has black hair, is always clean shaven, and has no distinguishing marks. Due to his active lifestyle it is not hard for him to keep in shape, and one of his duplicates even spends hours at the gym per day just to keep his body as fit as it possibly can be. He tends to wear comfortable clothing, such as jeans or combat pants. One thing he is always seen in, without fail, is his distinctive green long-sleeved tee-shirt, due to the fact that it helps absorb kinetic energy (which in turn prevents him from unintentionally duping). He often wears a dark jacket to complete the look, making him seem almost ordinary to the naked eye.Personality:
Surprisingly, Madrox has a rather strong, confident personality. He can seem cocky and full of himself at times, but it is just macho bravado coming through. Nevertheless, this has made him somewhat successful with women, and he regularly reminds people when he gets the chance.Abilities:
Morally, Madrox believes in mutant rights. He could have seen himself working with the X-Men, but he believes they are not proactive enough, and likes the way Magneto sees things, in as much as he believes that mutants will only be seen as equals when they fight hard enough for it.
When it comes down to it, Madrox is a bad person trying to be a good person. He can commit atrocities in the name of progress, yet would help those in need if he believed them truly needy.
Jamie Madrox was born with the ability to create duplicates of himself. He can do this at will, or if struck with enough kinetic force, he will automatically duplicate. It is also the case that whatever Madrox has on his person (money, weapons, clothes) is duplicated too, thereby making him remarkably competent in almost any situation. These duplicates are almost completely independent, with their own thoughts, their own feelings, and the capacity to learn. They also, though, have all of Madrox's memories, and share his personality. It is because of this that the duplicates will usually follow his lead, and do what he would do, so to speak. They will respond to Madrox's commands when ordered, and will normally allow themselves to be reabsorbed in to his body. Upon doing this, the "prime" Madrox gains all of their knowledge and experiences. This has allowed Madrox to become a "jack of all trades" in a way, with a wide variety of skills.History:
If Madrox is injured, creating a duplicate, or absorbing a duplicate, halves the injury, making him more than a little tough to kill.
Madrox's duplicates can be killed without no physical injury to the "prime" Madrox.
Jamie Madrox was born in Los Alamos New Mexico. Unlike most mutants, Madrox had his powers at birth, even separating in to two infants when the doctor smacked him to induce crying. His father (a noted scientist at the time) created a special suit for him to wear that would stop random impacts from making him accidentally duplicate.Other:
Things were fine for Madrox, growing up on his parents farm, up until he was around fifteen years old, when his parents were killed by a freak tornado. This left Madrox an orphan, but he continued to work the farm, using his duplicates to make chores that much easier.
When his suit was damaged, Jamie came to New York, struggling to control his powers. Over the course of several years he managed to learn how to control his abilities to an extent, and as such amassed a small fortune due to some rather unlawful activities. His gang became well known for a time, and of course, due to his powers, he was able to hide in plain sight, away from those that might try to hurt him.
Things changed when one of Madrox's duplicates was shot, and died in the arms of his creator. That moment showed Madrox just how careless he had been, and he turned his life around for a while. He even created a new method of protecting himself from accidentally duplicating. This was in the form of a long-sleeved tee shirt that he wears at almost all times (he has several spares too).
When the trouble over mutants finally hit the news, Jamie decided that he should fight for mutants everywhere. Initially contact by a man calling himself Professor Xavier, Jamie rejected the man's ideals, thinking that peaceful coexistence could not be achieved without violence and revolution.
It was soon after that he met Magneto, and was inducted in to the Brotherhood...
Because of Jamie's ability to duplicate himself and then absorb said information, he has become quite adept in several fields. He has had training in Kung Fu, various firearms, can speak several languages such as Russian. He is an accomplished gymnast, and even a licensed attorney. His days as a criminal also means that he knows how to hot-wire cars, drive at ridiculous speeds, and pick locks, even breaking in to safes.Sample RP:
"So how did it go last night?"
"She's upstairs, still asleep."
"Oh really? And?"
"That is one dirty, dirty woman."
"What did I tell you?"
"Yeah yeah... That thing where she bends backward and... I mean, how is that-"
"What'd I tell you. Seven years of ballet and five at gymnastics. Good for something."
Both men went silent as a door was heard closing upstairs. Soon, the door to the kitchen was opening, and a somewhat dishevelled brunette in a black dress walked in. Then walked back out after seeing six men, all in identical clothing, all in various positions around the kitchen looking up at her.
She came back in, only to see one man standing by the cooker, making some breakfast.
"You all right, you look like you've seen a ghost."
"I just... I heard voices." She said, a little unsure of herself.
"Oh, that was the TV." Madrox replied, smiling.
"Breakfast?"
"Actually I'm gonna go. Thanks for last night."
"No problem. Have a good day."
"Yeah, uh... Bye." She finally said, turning to leave.
Madrox smiled to himself as the front door closed. It was the little things in life that made it all worth it...
