The cajun had a grin on his face while he walked along the sidewalk. He was just roaming around New York city, once more. Who could blame him? It was a bore inside the lair, as usual, and the boss has yet to give him any assignments or heists to do for him. Life was going a bit slow, and that's where he saw her. It seemed like her usual M.O. from the last time he watched her try to put something into another vending machine.
Slowly, he walked towards her direction without her noticing. Just a couple of feet behind her, he grinned and asked, "So...dis again? Seriously, you expectin dat Xavier student to stop you from stealin again?" Gambit let out a chuckle before he added, "Not gon' happen. Gambit's been watchin you from afar. Gotta say, a bit impressed by your skills since we last met."
He let himself have a pause before he continued, "However, gonna be doin better than dat." He still had that confident grin on his face while he waited for Tabitha to turn around and face him.

She'd gotten the munchies. Not from having done any drugs or gone drinking or anything. She might have been a bit of a wild card, but she kept clean. The last thing she needed was to be caught up in a bad situation high or drunk or anything like that. Life had enough adventures, thank you. The wild spirited blond bombshell was actually somewhat behaving herself, trying to get a vending machine to take a somewhat crumpled dollar bill so she could get a morning snack in.
The thing about Tabitha though, was that she wasn't exactly the most patient person in the world to start with. Not that she had too explosive of a temper but... Alright, so she did, not that she'd admit it. Anyways, the stupid machine wasn't taking the money and she was just about to form a few bombs so she could get it working the usual way, when she heard a voice like riiiiight behindish to the side of her.
For once in a really rare occasion, Tabitha damn near jumped out of her skin. Then, whirling around, she saw it was her "teacher" or whatever he'd decided he was today.
"Hey, I wasn't stealin' this time." She stated, waving the dollar with one hand while her other hand remained behind her back.
The other hand didn't move from behind her back for a second or so as she pulled the energy back into herself despite the slight tingling and burning in her finger tips from it. Her fingertips still tingled slightly as she moved her hand to her hip while the dollar was pushed into her pocket with her other hand.
"Whatcha mean by "Xavier student"?" Tabby asked, having been too impulsive to think it through before she asked him.
Right after those words slipped past her lips, she realized he might have been talking about Greggy-boy. So he went to that big fancy place? She might need to spy on him some time to see what went on and stuff... Wait a minute....
"You've been spyin' on me? And here I was thinkin' you just lost interest or something. Just how long have you been stalking me, "teacher"? Couldnta hurt to give a hint that you didn't just bail on me. And what are you talkin' about when you say that part about better?"
He wasn't going to end up like her father, was he?

Gambit was still the face of both confidence and mystery as she rattled off and asked him one-two questions herself. After doing such, he just shook his head and told her, "Tsk tsk...see? Gonna have to do better den dat to be a good theif. Gambit aint convinced from de way you just replied." She wasn't that much for being a good liar, that, Gambit could tell. Furthermore, he noticed something on that other hand she was hiding. He wasn't too sure of it, but it was something.
"It just Gambit or is de student tryin to hide some hidden talents dere in her back pocket a few seconds earlier?" The cajun pointed to the hand she originally kept behind her, indicating that maybe she was hiding something there before. The man had a keen eye on things, and this situation was no different. If she was hiding something, she better owe up to it fast, for her sake. Slowly the conversation went to the fact he just observed her that time she met this kid from Xavier's.
"Spyin? Stalkin? No, dat be too easy. Les just say Gambit was on the right place at de right time. Kinda obvious to see it was you across de street runnin your trap at someone. Interetingly enough it was with someone from dat school. Pretty nice, you bagged y'self a fly boy didn't you?" a cocky smirk appeared across his face. He knew he was on the right track on this one. Maybe that kid tried to recruit her too. If he was, tough luck. Gambit got to her first.
"Thing is, chere, seems like you been holdin' out on teacher. Aint tellin him you got gifts of your own...like things dat go boom," he said to her while he turned to his side. There were a few people who walked past the two of them. Even without colliding or bumping into someone, Gambit retrieved a wallet from a random passerby. With a grin, he pulled out a dollar from that and gave it to her. "Here," the cajun said before he placed the stolen wallet into his pocket and used the other hand to extend the dollar to her. "Must be striaght 'nuff to get what y'want in dere non?"

A slight pout formed when Gambit commented on her needing to be more convincing. She didn't agree with him and it was written all over her face. Why? Well, because she was actually telling the truth about not trying to rob the machine this time. If she wanted to lie, then she would have gotten it done good. She could bullshit with the best of them when she was in the mood to.
Her thoughts were interrupted when he started speaking again. Well, not because he was chatting her up, but because of the mention of "hidden talents". Just how much had he seen? It had been one of the reasons she'd pulled the energy back in so quickly so she could being her hand out from behind her before accusing him of spying on her and even stalking. The spying and stalking topic was more of a diversion. One she hoped that would work as she tried to think of how to get out of this mess.
"Spyin? Stalkin? No, dat be too easy. Les just say Gambit was on the right place at de right time. Kinda obvious to see it was you across de street runnin your trap at someone. Interetingly enough it was with someone from dat school. Pretty nice, you bagged y'self a fly boy didn't you?"
Her hands went to her hips and she put on a smirk.
"Yeah, right. Right place at the right time? Sure, in a world where I'm a proper lady." She stated, her way of telling him she didn't believe him.
"As for baggin', I don't know what you're talkin' about." Tabby stated, her fingers going through her hair to ruffle it up some.
"Thing is, chere, seems like you been holdin' out on teacher. Aint tellin him you got gifts of your own...like things dat go boom," Gambit stated.
The blond's eyes went a little wide for a second before she recovered. Then, a somewhat cocky grin crossed her lips and mischief made it's way back into her eyes along with amusement. It wasn't like she really hid the fireworks. The incident at Burger King was proof of that.
"Well, you were bound to find out anyways, seein' how I'm not all secretive about it all the time. You got it, you gotta flaunt it sometimes. Or at least have some fun. What's the point if you're gonna hide it away all the time. I ain't got no shame in my game." She replied with a wry grin.
Of course, she didn't go into any details right then as a couple of people went passing by. When Gambit went to picking one of their pockets and showing off by giving her a straight dollar, Tabby playfully rolled her eyes.
"I could do that." She claimed, even while taking the dollar from him when he held it out.

"Y'know what gambit be talkin about," he said in a slightly stern yet relaxed tone on his voice. If she figured out already that he saw them, she shouldn't be playing dumb. On his mental scoreboard, she just notched a minus on that one. Thankfully, her reaction to him figuring out her powers was classic. It was like she just got swept off her feet. Her answer, however made him grin from ear to ear.
"No shame in your game?" The cajun repeated that line from Tabitha as a smirk formed around his lips. From the way she delivered it, it was with conviction. It was something the cajun actually was glad to hear from her. She had mutant powers and was not afraid to use it to her advantage. "Y'know what," Gambit started to say before he gave her a hearty pat on the shoulder, "Dats what Gambit wanted to hear."
"Y'see...der be some people who are just shy or afraid of using dere gifts. Glad mah student aint one of dat," Gambit told her while she was putting the dollar into the machine. "Once your done eatin, we go off somewhere and talk about dis talent." The cajun saw it, but has yet to see the full grasp of her mastery. If it was similar to his, he might as well help her.

"Y'know what gambit be talkin about,"
Tabitha had been smirking but that smirk turned into a full on grin as she got a cheeky look on her face.
"Oh you only think you know that I know what you're talkin' about. I'm a blonde, Gambers, don't gimme so much credit." She said in an obvious joke.
"No shame in your game?"
"Not in the least, so you're gonna have to get used t' it." She quipped, still being a cheeky little thing.
"Y'know what... Dats what Gambit wanted to hear."
Well, someone seemed happy, if the patting and the tone were anything to go by. But then again, he could just be that good of a con-man.
"Y'see...der be some people who are just shy or afraid of using dere gifts. Glad mah student aint one of dat... Once your done eatin, we go off somewhere and talk about dis talent."
Her bright eyes narrowed some and she gave a half-pout half-smirk.
"Just whatcha got planned, "teach"? And what's to say that the conversation ain't just gonna be one sided? I've had this whole "talk about my talents" thing before but when there ain't much as far as things in common...."
She let it hang on that. He was a smart man. At least, he acted like he was. Smooth operator and all that. He'd get the idea that she was hinting at a show and tell. If he didn't have powers too, she wasn't about to let him use her for hers. She'd been down that road already.

Gambit's face still had the confident grin he always put on in public. She was cautious of him, and that was a good sign for the cajun. At least, for him, this kid wasn't as stupid as she would look. He just stood there silently as he watched her finish her food. Once she was done, he gave her a nod and said, "Follow me."
He said nothing else, just to keep a little mystery to where they were going to see how Tabitha's powers play out. He had a little idea of it anyway, so the 'practice zone' would probably be a few blocks away from the busy streets. Somewhere her gifts would not disturb anyone for that matter. Remy led Tabitha through a sereis of streets for a few minutes before they entered a pretty vacant lot filled with grass and a couple of discarded barrells and bricks laid out inside.
"Ok, here's de practice zone." The cajun explained to the blonde while he motioned to the three metallic cylinders stacked up. He looked back at Tabitha and asked her, "So...shall we see how you knock em down? Or maybe how you make 'em go...boom?" A wicked grin flashed on his face, daring her to show him what she's capable of. He added, "If you impress de teacher, maybe he'll show you his own set of skills." Plus, if that was ever an incentive for Tabitha, he'll play along and show her a few tricks up his own sleeve.
