Mutation, it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to involve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward. This leap has brought forth Mutants, human’s who possess abilities beyond those of a normal human. Since the discovery of their existence they have been met with fear, suspicion, often hatred. Across the planet debate rages: are mutants the next link in the evolutionary chain? Or simply a new species of humanity, fighting for their share of the world?
Either way, it is a historical fact: sharing the world has never been humanity's defining attribute. Those who walk a different path of life due to having powers must now find a way to live in a world that fears them. There is no guidance, no mentors or help to turn to, they must learn to understand their powers and harness them on their own. Those who fear them will not make it an easy task simply to exist in peace, danger lurks around every corner, plans and plots are being made, will mutants survive in this world, will they find a peaceful way to co exist, or will they have to fight for their survival?
The site does not utilize Xavier's School for the gifted, the Brotherhood and X-men do not exist as teams. All of the canon characters are on their own with no guidance in their powers, trying to live normal lives as mutants, and attempting to make it in a world that fears them. This is not to say that teams similar to the x-men and brotherhood can't or won't be formed by the players through roleplaying.
